What we do
We initiate and support experimental projects that explore what science could become. Each year, we select a small number of initiatives that:
-
Dare to try something new, even when this is uncertain or still taking shape;
-
Reflect on science with the aim of building more inclusive and imaginative systems;
-
connect academic and non-academic forms of knowledge;
-
contribute to a broader conversation about science in society.

Our foundation is not-for-profit and volunteer-driven.
Our board brings together people from different disciplines and walks of life. Some work within universities, others far outside them. We don’t share a single field, but we do share an attitude: critical of how some aspects of science currently work out, hopeful about what academia could become.
